Egyptians consider education a significant societal value, actively seeking to understand the available educational systems, their dimensions, strengths, and weaknesses. Egyptians spare no effort in encouraging their children to pursue education, learn, and benefit from educational opportunities available to them, aiming for educational progress. At times, some even resort to borrowing to provide suitable educational services for their children.

The Egyptians' pursuit and determination stem from their societal conviction in the value of education, a conviction founded on appreciating the importance of education for the future of their children and for the entire family, echoing the famous verse of the prince of poets, Ahmed Shawqi:

Knowledge raises homes with no pillars *** While ignorance demolishes the homes of dignity and generosity

Given Egypt\'s long history of education, encompassing periods of prosperity and decline, advancement and setbacks, and owing to Egypt\'s rich history as one of the region\'s most important and largest countries, there exist now a variety of different educational systems to provide pre-university education services in Egypt. This diversity has resulted in a multitude of schools catering to this age group (4 to 18 years), creating a challenge for parents in understanding the available educational systems, their philosophies, and visions, and in choosing the appropriate one for their children. This situation also complicates distinguishing between different schools that offer the same educational system, in the absence of a unified and documented evaluation standard among the current systems and schools. There is also a lack of institutional and programmatic accreditation for these schools, relying instead on parental recommendations and impressions of the various schools. Additionally, scattered and conflicting information on some schools and educational systems in Egypt on the internet further exacerbates these challenges.

The general idea of this book emerged from the aim to assist parents in choosing the appropriate school for their children. The book provides a range of information and advice that parents can follow when making decisions regarding the choice of educational system and school. It begins by describing the various educational systems currently available in Egypt for pre-university education, and compares these systems in terms of their educational goals, philosophies, and their approach to preparing students for the job market, society, and admission to local, regional, and international universities. The book also discusses the skills emphasized by each educational system and how to choose between them based on the child\'s abilities, development, inclinations, and desires. Additionally, the book dedicates a chapter to comparing the currently available international educational systems in Egypt in terms of their approach, philosophy, and outcomes.
